to make the id for the group, you simply come up with an image you like, then click on the icon area and just do the same as you would for your personal icon.
to affiliate, when you look on your group page or whatever you call it, it will have a button that says "affiliate" and then you click that and type in the name of the group you want to affiliate with, click enter and off you go laughing.
